Hi guys i have two of these 1953 fishing rods in not to bad of shape,and they are pretty cool!!!!!Oh ya they are two different Whirlaways,i was driving around and i seen some stuff on the side of the road that someone was giving away,i looked and saw the tips of two fishing poles so i ran over and holy cow there they were,i thought what the heck are these.lol..Anyway it was a bonus,happy fishing everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My gGrandpa had one when I was 7-8, it facanated me. I always wanted it, He died 1969, My cousins stole fishing & coins durring the funeral. I looked for on ever since. 5 yrs ago I was in an auction 55 mi. from where he lived. First one I had seen since his. One day walking to the river down a freshed oiled country road Grandpa droped the whirlaway. got tar on the reel and it would never come off. The pole I found in the auction was made up the exact way Grandpa done his poles. Guess What, The real still has tar on it. Thanks Grandpa, And Thank You God for bringing it home to me 37 yrs later.
